You can always return a vehicle early. However, if you are renting a vehicle on a weekly rate, and you return it after 4 days, as an example, the car company will negate your weekly rate, and recalculate your rate to a daily rate, at the going rate of the day – which could make your rental more expensive than it would have been if you kept it for the entire time.
